Donald Peter or Don Peter is a Malaysian author born in June 26, 1961 in Sandakan, North Borneo (now known as Sabah). His novel, The Eurasians (2016) is the first English romance-thriller from Borneo. Peter’s paternal grandfather, Charles Peter was involved with the Kinabalu Guerilla which fought against the Japanese occupation in 1943 in service of the British Empire. Both Charles Peter and his wife Mary Bundbury were Eurasians.
Peter finished his primary schooling at St Agnes and his secondary education at All Saints in Jesselton (now known as Kota Kinabalu). He furthered his study at ITM University in Kuala Lumpur finishing with a Diploma in Library and Information Science in 1985. Peter worked as a librarian at the Sabah Foundation Research Library until 1989 when he decided to venture into business. His experiences as an entrepreneur range from being a planter, civil & landscaping contractor and as a spa and reflexology operator.
Peter’s achievement was starting a travel blog; Travel & Leisure in Borneo in 2015. His passion is actually on environmental issues so his traveling blog is the best platform for him to express his feeling and concern about the environment in Borneo because travel and environment are complimentary topics.
